Treatment for Sports Injuries
Regain Strength, Speed, Agility and Mobility
Sports injuries come in many flavors, from many different types of circumstances. From blown out knees (ligament damage) to all types of fractures, the athlete is a special consideration for the physical therapist. The mechanism of injury can be important (sometimes no one really knows how it happened), as well as the extent of the damage. This helps determine what type of treatment will work best for each individual, as well as being an indicator of how long the healing process will take for full return to activities. Athletes require a fine line of aggressive treatment vs making certain they do not do further damage by returning to their sport too soon. Strength, speed, agility and mobility are all considerations, along with what each sport demands as special capabilities by the athlete for safe return.
