Physical Therapy for Knee Pain

Return to Normal Activities Quicker

Knee pain can oftentimes be the result of direct trauma to the knee, overuse of the joint, or, just as often, the result of issues at the lower back, pelvis, hips or ankles. Loss of motion or strength at the knee can also lead to loss of function and family time, as this pain can stop the patient from fully participating in, or enjoying life. As with any orthopedic problem, if there is a mechanical reason for the dysfunction, there is generally a mechanical fix (physical therapy) that can be applied if the joint remains intact. Seeing knee patients pre operatively will give them a head start after surgery. Seeing these patients immediately after surgery means less time in rehab, and a quicker return to normal activities.
