Abnormal Gait Pattern Therapy
Prevent Premature Wearing of Joints & Tissue
If you limp, drag your feet, point your toes outward, point your toes inward, walk on the balls of your feet, fail to swing your arms or your hips…you may be demonstrating what we would call an abnormal gait pattern. This is usually caused by mechanical issues throughout the trunk, pelvis, hips and legs (and even sometimes the shoulders) and is generally correctable with a program facilitated by your physical therapist. It is never too late to change what you are doing habitually, and to change the mechanics behind it. Not changing these potentially harmful patterns can lead to premature wearing of the joints and the soft tissues that hold them together.
